Kabaddi is one of the oldest sports that originated from the country of India, and involves different kinds of the game, also including the international rules Kabaddi, by which it is recognized globally. The Indian Kabaddi styles include various forms, including—Amar, Punjabi, Sanjeevani as well as Gaminee.

In different states of India, as well as neighboring countries like Bangladesh and the Maldives, Kabaddi is known with different names, although the practice and style is quite same. These regional names include, Chedugudu in the southern state of Andhra Pradesh, Sadugudu in Tamil Nadu, Hututu in the western Indian state of Maharashtra, Hadudu in Bangladesh and Baibalaa in Maldives.

Over the years, it became the national sport of both the countries of Nepal and Bangladesh and is also the state sport for many Indian states like Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Bihar, as well as Punjab. India has not only been the root for the game, but has also managed to acquire every world title and Asian titles in the game till date, in both the categories of men and women.
