Invention of Indigo dye

Indigo, as the color suggests is a blue pigment and dye, which originated in the country of India was used in the country since ages ago and India also become the primary and major hub for ll its production as well as processing stages.

One of the very initial and first varieties of the Indigo dye, called the “Indigofera tinctoria” was first domesticated and initiated in India, and soon after, it became a popular thing in other parts of the world.
After the introduction of the Indigofera tinctoria, the Indigo dye was then introduced to the Greeks and the Romans, through different trade routes that connected these countries to India, and thus, the Indigo dye began to be considered and treated as a popular luxury product and soon became an international product.
