The Chandrabhaga Fair is a popular Hindu festival held in Jhalarapatan, in the north-western state of Rajasthan in India, every year. Jhalarapatan is situated approximately 6 KMs away from Jhalawar in Rajasthan. The festival every year takes place in the holy month of Kartik as per the traditional Hindu calendar, which as per the Gregorian Calendar falls in month of October or November. This year in 2017, the Chandrabhaga Fair will be observed for a stretch of three days, from the 3rd of November 2017, which is Friday till the 5th of November 2017, which is a Sunday. Chandrabhaga is the name of a river located in the state of Rajasthan, which is considered to be extremely holy by the people of this state. Hence, during the Chandrabhaga Fair, named after this river, all devotees take a holy dip in the Chnadrabhaga River on the full moon day in the month of Kartik.

One of the major highlights of the celebrations of the Chandrabhaga Fair is the huge cattle fair organized here during the fair, in which thousands of people participate. Alongside religion, commerce is amalgamated as trading of animals like cows, buffaloes, camels, horses, etc. take place and people from the state as well as other states like Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh too indulge in the trading of these animals.

Other than this aspect, people also get to interact with each other during this festival and tourists get to know a lot about the local traditions, rituals, and culture of the state, thanks to the multidimensional festival called Chandrabhaga Fair. Jhalawar as a town in Rajasthan is quite small, but people can commute using autos and rickshaws as well as cycles around it. One can also check out nearby tourist attraction sites like the Jhalawar Fort, Bhavani Natyashala, the Chandrabhaga Temple, etc.
