This year’s May witnessed Samsung’s buy one get one free offer for Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 plus. This July, Samsung is in the game once again with a proper-functioning smartphone trade-in offer for receiving the S8 for free. Samsung has listed some of the eligible handsets as follows:

  • iPhone 6s
  • iPhone 6s Plus
  • iPhone 7
  • iPhone 7 Plus
  • Galaxy Note 5
  • Galaxy S6
  • Galaxy S6 Edge
  • Galaxy S6 Edge Plus
  • Galaxy S7
  • Galaxy S7 Edge

What does the offer state about its details?

The deal suggests that the trade-in device must be sent to them after 15 days of buying your new Galaxy S8. Also, the smartphone you would be trading must be in perfectly good condition with no cracked screen, must be factory reset and should also be software-locks free (such as anti-theft locks) and must not be blacklisted.

Samsung states, “If you do not send in your Trade-In Device within 15 days of receiving your new device or if your Trade-In Device is not in good condition or is not otherwise eligible for Trade-In, you agree to pay Samsung the full trade-in value listed above or full trade-in value listed minus $25, respectively.”

If the device you trade-in for the free mobile is tested and approved, then Samsung would be sending you another Galaxy S8. However, if you wish to trade your device for a Galaxy S8 Plus then you must pay an additional $100 for the next unit.

Why is this deal so lucrative?

Samsung’s unlocked models of Galaxy S8 and S8+ are being discounted by $100 all around.  However, Samsung has decided to crank it up a notch by offering a more lucrative discount only if you buy the S8 directly from their store (the unlocked models included). They are willing to give you $200 for the smartphone you trade in as long as it is not blacklisted and is a running iOS or Android. You could get more than $200 off depending on the phone you trade in. Samsung applies the discount immediately as you buy your new S8 but you must trade your device as soon as you receive your new phone for avoiding Samsung’s charging back the offer they gave you.
