Alia Bhatt all set to be the Box Office Queen in 2019?

Silver screen’s current top actress Alia Bhatt may have had just one release this year in 2018 but that has won her all the accolades from fans and the industry. Playing the Indian spy Sehmat in the thriller drama Raazi, Alia was critically acclaimed for her portrayal and she will surely sweep all the awards for this one. Though it’s obvious that her fans are disappointed since the bubbly actress had only one release this year, it’s time to jump with joy! It’s because in the coming year of 2019, Alia is all set to have not two or three but FOUR releases, in the form of Gully Boy, Kalank, Sadak 2, and Brahmastra.

Gully Boy

Releasing: February 14, 2019

All set to release on the Valentine’s Day of 2019, this movie will see Alia teaming up with the recently married Bollywood heartthrob Ranveer Singh, for the first time. He will be essaying the role of a rapper in the film! It is directed by Zoya Akhtar under the banner of Excel Entertainment and is based on the life of a gully rapper called Naezy aka Naved Shaikh who hails from a Kurla Slum.

Kalank

Releasing: April 19, 2019

This movie is a multi-starrer, with names like Varun Dhawan, Madhuri Dixit, Sanjay Dutt, Sonakshi Sinha, and Aditya Roy Kapur in important roles. It is a cross-border period drama produced by Karan Johar and directed by 2 States director Abhishek Varman.

Sadak 2

Releasing: November 15, 2019

Alia will once again share the screen with Aditya Roy Kapur and Sanjay Dutt in Sadak 2, which is a thriller drama. It also stars her half-sister Pooja Bhatt, and is directed by their father Mahesh Bhatt, who is returning to directing after 20 long years!

Brahmastra

Releasing: December 20, 2019

This one’s a special project for Alia since Brahmastra is the first project where she’s starring with her real life boyfriend Ranbir Kapoor! This is a superhero film, which was earlier slated to release on August 15, but due to some incomplete VFX work, has been pushed to December 20. It also stars Bollywood’s Megastar Amitabh Bachchan, alongside Mouni Roy and Nagarjuna in keyroles and is directed by Ye Jawani Hai Deewani director Ayan Mukerji.
