Vijay Kumar – Olympics Medal Winner
Born on the 19th of August in the year 1985, in Hamirpur, situated in the Indian state of Himachal Pradesh, Vijay Kumar is a famous sport shooter, who has gained immense recognition and accolades, both nationally and overseas, including the silver medal at the 2012 Summer Olympics held at London.
Supported by the Olympic Gold Quest, he is also a serving warrant officer in the Indian army. Over the years, Kumar has managed to bag many titles, significantly, the 2009 and 2011 world shooting championships by the International Sport Shooting Federation (ISSF) in Beijing and Fort Benning respectively, where he won the silver medals.
Singh has also managed to make his mark at the Commonwealth Games of 2006 held at Melbourne and the 2010 held at Delhi, in India. He won two gold medals in the former, while in the latter he managed to win three gold medals and one silver medal.
Apart from these achievements, Singh has also won a silver medal at the Asian Games of 2014 held at South Korea. Earlier, he had won a bronze medal in the games both in 2006 and 2010, in Doha and Guanzhou respectively.
