Located on the borders of the south Indian states of Telangana and Karnataka on the banks of holy River Krishna, Kurupuram is a popular pilgrim place linked with Shripad Shri Vallabha, a popular saint in Indian history who used to live in Pithapuram and was believed to be the first incarnation of Shri Dattatreya—a Hindu deity known to be the avatar of Lord Brahma, Lord Vishnu, and Lord Shiva, in the Kaliyuga.

The place is also known by few other names, which include Kuruvapur, Vallabhapuram, Kurugadda, and Kurugaddi. The saint Shripad Shri Vallabha spent a large part of his life here, performing many leelas, and he penned down his entire experience of Kurupuram in his popular religious book Shri Guru Charitra.

It is believed that devotees and people with true respect and admiration for the almighty would get a healthy and prosperous life free of all tensions on visiting the holy town of Kurupuram. The most famous pilgrim attraction site here is the Shripad ShriVallabha Temple, along with a list of other small temples where devotees love to spend some quality time with their own self, embracing spiritual essence.
